Advice for airline travel to Maui:
To get a really great deal on airfare to Maui one has to be patient and flexible. To help with that patience is using one of the tools out there like:
- Airfarewatchdog.com - good for the truly flexible who can take off at the drop of a card.
- Travelocity.com - check airfares to see the deals plus if you create an account you can set up to get emails when the price drops on travel to your favorite destinations
- Google.com/flights - Google search for airline flights. Simple and very good tool to see what is available.
- Go To Delta.com/vacations/search.action, select "Flight + Car" tab and search from MSP to OGG with your dates.
- Alaska Airlines has a Vacation package options as well; go to https://www.alaskaair.com/content/vacations/packages.aspx and do the same as above selecting the "Flight + Car" option and search by date.
- American Airlines has one and some good flights. https://www.aavacations.com/ Has a similar function "Flight + Car"

Advise for Car Rentals on Maui:
We suggest you get a Car Rental while on Maui because there is a lot to see and do. Unless you are here for a conference and staying at one of the "resort areas" you will want a car. For example a shuttle can cost $90 each way to/from the West side/Kahului airport.

Here are some places to try:
- Kahului Auto Rentals - https://kahuluiautorentals.com/ Rents used/older cars at really good rates. $25/day for a sedan, $35/day for a Van or SUV. This is an off airport rental but they can arrange airport pickup and drop off.
- Kihei Rent A Car - http://www.kiheirentacar.com/ Used cars, jeeps and vans. Shuttle service from/to the airport to the Kihei store; no fee for shuttle on rentals longer than 5 days.
- Discount Hawaii Car Rentals - http://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/ Type in your travel dates and car needs and get the rate. Guaranteed Car rentals, no cost cancellation and no credit card required until you pick up your rental.
- Travelocity - travelocity.com. Just a solid web site to check prices to compare with other such as Discount Hawaii Car Rentals.
- Costco Travel - https://www.costcotravel.com/. You have to be a member to use this service. We use it often when traveling to the Main land. Like others it has a no cost cancellation policy, but the best way to use it is to make a reservation and then 1 or 2 days prior to your travel date I check again and often the price goes down considerably.
- There is no Sam's Club here on Maui so we aren't members but I would assume they would have something similar. http://travel.samsclub.com/sams/traveloffers/default.aspx
- Need a Van? Try Al West's Maui Vans rentals. Middle aged or new - https://www.mauivans.com/
- SpeediShuttle Maui - arrange shuttle service to/from the Airport to your condominium - https://www.speedishuttle.com/
- Roberts Hawaii - airport transfer service. Private or shared - https://www.robertshawaii.com/airport-shuttle/maui/
- Maui County has a Bus system that can get you around the island. West Side folks may want to take the bus to Kaanapali's Whaler's Village or to Lahaina town. Bad news is the buses stop running around 9pm. Maui County web site for more info: http://www.co.maui.hi.us/609/Maui-Bus-Public-Transit-System
